When the Simpsons went to New Orleans in the season 29 episode Lisa Gets The Blues, Homer went on an epic food binge. From Po Boys to Jambalaya and much more, he basically tried almost everything The Big Easy is known for. When Swiss designer and illustrator Katrin von Niederhäusern saw it, she knew she had to remake the binge frame by frame.
In her caption of the YouTube video Katrin states the video is “Two Swiss girls love the Simpsons as much as they love New Orleans. So of course they needed to recreate this sequence!” And recreate it they did. It’s perhaps the closest anyone has ever come to making a live action sequence of the Simpsons. If you discount the couple of live action sequences they’ve made over the years (including the opening credits in season 17) that is.
Over all the sequence is a minute-and-a-half-long, and you get to see Homer and Lisa on one side, with the recreated scene starring Katrin and her friend Janine on the other. You’ll want to watch it over and over again to see how closely the camera angels, camera movements, and character mannerisms are copied.
