Are you looking for a vacation that’s not exactly on the beaten path? Maybe an adventure to another country that can’t be found in travel brochures. Well you are in luck, that just happens to be my specialty! Adventure travel is more than just a vacation, it’s an opportunity to get to know the world around you a little bit better.
I put together tailor-made trips for individuals looking for greater hands-on exploration, where they can interact with the locals and have the freedom to go where they want to go. You will get to know the world better, by really getting to know the people, places and things that make it worth exploring. You will learn more about the culture and habitats of the area than you could on a regular tour. Adventure travel can include anything from walking through Spain, to bicycling in Sicily, kayaking in Mongolia, riding the historic Ghan train through Australia and even self-driving trips in countries you want to visit.
If you can find it on a map, I can make it happen for you. The trips I plan are typically for independent people, who like to explore, but don’t like being cooped up in a bus with a tour guide. And if you happen to want a guided tour for specific locations, I can arrange that too. I can even book you on that river cruise down the Rhine that you’ve had your eye on for quite some time. I’ll handle all the arrangements for you, from transfers to hotels to plane tickets, so you can relax and enjoy your vacation, as everybody should.
When it comes to flights, I can assist you in planning complex itineraries, with multiple airlines, with as many stops as you want, in business or first class if you desire, making your trip around-the-world as simple and easy as possible.
As for myself, lately I’ve been enjoying my time exploring Asia. I’ve been to Mongolia twice, and am looking forward to visiting Bhutan in the near future. I like going to different places people don’t think about right away. I like exploring the cities and supermarkets, because there you get to see what the people are all about.
I found the people of Mongolia very gentle and friendly, in part due to their Buddhist background. I felt safe while visiting their country as well, which is very important to me. Due to the Russian occupation from 1924 to the 1970s there aren’t a lot of temples to visit, but the Gobi desert is an impressive site to see. Mongolians are very proud of Genghis Khan, who has a massive statue in the capital city of Ulaanbaatar. The most unique thing to me about visiting Mongolia is that up until 1992, no one was able to travel to the country. They had been isolated for a long time, so the sites you see are not ones that everyone has seen. If you do go, I’d recommend checking out the Gobi Desert, visiting the Reindeer People, going to the Kazak area and you absolutely must check out the Petroglyph Complexes of the Mongolian Altai. And while nobody really goes to Mongolia for the food, you will need to try their local drink Kumis, which is fermented mare’s milk. It’s basically Mongolian vodka, but way more mild than the Russian variety.
Some other countries I’d like to visit include India and Morocco, and I’d love to go cycling through Portugal and Vietnam. And perhaps one day I’ll be able to visit Egypt, Iraq, Iran and Syria. Each of these countries have a rich history, which I enjoy, with friendly people and an incredible culture. It’s these things that I look for when I choose a destination to travel to.
As you can see, traveling is important to me, and I want to make your trip special too. Contact me to today to see how I can help.
