This morning we will tour historic St. John’s, the oldest city in North America. Visit Cabot Tower and Signal Hill to view the harbour’s “Narrows” and admire the architecture of old St. John’s, including the famous ‘Jelly Bean Houses’ and the bustling village of Quidi Vidi. We also visit Cape Spear National Historic Park, the most easterly point of land in North America. After some free time in the downtown area, we travel north of St. John’s to the Admiral’s Coast. These uniquely named fishing villages nestled into the rugged cliff sides are made for photography. Dinner tonight is on George Street, a street of nothing other than pubs and bars. This morning we travel to Grand Bank. This town is made famous by its namesake schooners and its prolific fishing heritage. After lunch in Fortune, we catch our ferry to the Island of St. Pierre. With a
population of 6500, the infrastructure is modern and urban. The residents are a combination of rotating French employees and those who have lived on the island for many generations. Their traditions are completely European with an interesting mixture of French and Basque culture and history. On arrival in St.Pierre we take a tour of the island. The late afternoon is left free. Tonight, we enjoy true French cuisine where we dine at one of St. Pierre’s finest restaurants.

was at one time a fishing village of 600 souls, which made it larger than St. Pierre. Others may choose to take a free morning in St. Pierre to visit the sites and museums or to ‘twack’ around in the shops that feature many imports from France and other parts of Europe.
