Day 01 - Depart June 5th Toronto Pearson International
Overnight, non-stop to Tel-Aviv, Ben Gurion Airport.
Day 02 - Jerusalem
Early morning arrival. Meet with both the guide and your driver. Proceed to Jerusalem for a traditional welcome ceremony and orientation of the city. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem at the Prima Royale Jerusalem (check in June 6 and check out June 10).
Day 03 - Masada & Dead Sea
Drive south through the Judean Hills towards the shores of the Dead Sea. Arrive at Masada and ascend to the top via cable-car. Continue to the Dead Sea for a swim in the world famous mineral waters. Return to Jerusalem.
Day 04 - New & Old City of Jerusalem
A full day in the old city of Jerusalem that starts with a visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust History Museum, proceed to the Jewish Quarter, the Western Wall, Cardo, Herodian Mansions, Rabbinical Tunnel, The Christian Quarter with the Via Dolorosa and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, and the market place. Return to the hotel for the night.
Day 05 - Jerusalem
Drive to Bethlehem and visit the Church of the Nativity. Stop for lunch at a authentic Arab restaurant. Return to Jerusalem for an afternoon of leisure. Stay overnight in Jerusalem and enjoy the nightlife.
Day 06 - Sea of Galilee & Tiberias
Depart Jerusalem and drive north to Galilee via the Jordan Valley. Visit Beit She'an and Beit Alfa and the city of Tiberias. Dinner and an over night stay at a kibbutz guest-house Hagoshrim (check in June 10 and check out June 12).
Day 07 - Galilee and the Golan Heights
A short drive to the town of Safed. The beauty of this town inspires the many artists who have settled here over the years and have turned Safed into the centre of Israeli art and culture. Continue on northward to the nature reserve of Tel Dan and enjoy a short hike along the Hatzbani River. Descend down into the Golan Heights, one of Israel's most beautiful and controversial regions. Drive through the small towns and villages. Afternoon Kayaking on the Jordan River and return to the Kibbutz guest-house for dinner and the balance of the night.
Day 08 - Mediterranean Coast to Tel-Aviv
Drive west across Galilee to the Mediterranean Coast to Rosh Hanikra and see the underwater caves. Then down to the town of Akko which has been designated by the UNISECO as a "World Heritage Site". Stroll through the colourful Oriental Market to visit the Crusader Fortress. Proceed to Haifa to the town of Caesarea, built by Herod in honour of the emperor. Continue along the coast to Tel-Aviv for some much need relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at your final destination at Leonardo Basel Tel Aviv (check in June 12 and check out June 16).
Day 09 - Pride Day in Tel-Aviv
Morning free for leisure. Walk over to Mier Park at 12pm to participate in the Tel-Aviv Pride Parade festivities. A full-day of fun and celebrations. Lots of parties and activities to attend in the evening in the city to discover and enjoy.
Day 10 - Tel-Aviv
A day of leisure. Enjoy the beach or go for a walk in the crowded streets and explore some of the wonderful parks Tel-Aviv has to offer. Stay overnight in Tel-Aviv.
Day 11 - Tel-Aviv
Anotyher welcomed day of leisure. Stay overnight in Tel-Aviv and take in the nightlife.
Day 12 - Tel-Aviv
Final day in Tel-Aviv with the morning free for leisure and last-minute shopping and meeting with friends. Afternoon tour of Tel-Aviv. Visit the port of Jaffa, Neve Tzedek and Rothchild Blvd with its Bauhaus architecture, the Aguda (GLBT Community Centre) and Rabin Square. Return to your hotel for a farewell dinner. Transfer to Tel-Aviv airport for your return flight to Toronto.
PLACES TO VISIT ON FREE DAYS OR AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE ITINERARY
Instead of going to the Dead Sea, walk the quiet streets of Jerusalem. Go to one of the many Synagogues for Shabbat service, or buy tickets - in advance - for the Israeli Museum and see the Dead Sea Scrolls. As for restaurants, the guide will recommend the best ones in the area.
Take a walk to Carmel Market on Allenby Street, It's one of the famous markets in Israel. You will find clothes, food, and gifts. At the entrance to the market, on the left side there is a street called "Nachlat Binyimin". It is a must see street vendors selling beautiful handmade crafts, restaurants and music as well. Walk along the beach to Jaffa and visit the Artist Colony with all the wonderful art galleries or stroll up Dizengoff Street with all the elegant fashion stores and end at the Old Port of Tel-Aviv and enjoy the boardwalk with its numerous cafes and other eateries.
